A little outdoor time...

... before the big storm hits! (Schools are closed AGAIN!)

Even though the air temps were in the 40s, we still went out to play. The kids all love the dirt-- I told Scott we are not going to plant anything in the big planters-- they are just going to serve as dirt boxes for the kids.

Our 3rd Ice Day!

Well, it's our 3rd day of being iced-in, and tomorrow should deliver a topping of snow. *sigh* Schools are closed, roads are slick, so we are staying put. Thank goodness we are not starving and have heat (although the roaming power outages yesterday scared me-- no coffee?!?!)

The kids are doing well-- we rotate between crafts, tv, snacks/eating, and playing.

The next Gregory Hines!

Avery discovered Claire's tap shoes yesterday and had the BEST TIME walking around the house in them-- clack, clack, clack, clack. Of course, C had a ragin' fit about it, but it was a good learning opportunity in sharing for her.

1st Snow of 2011!

Well, it finally happened! Snow fell in the DFW Metroplex! Forecasters ahd been predicting it for days, but we all know how that goes... After nap time, the kiddos awoke to a winter-wonderland. We bundled up and headed outside to play.

Avery loved it! He had such fun walking around in, especially the puddles-- thank goodness for galoshes! Ash was not pleased at first, but then he got the hang of things and really enjoyed watching Carly and Reese frolic. Claire had a blast making snow angels, eating the snow, and throwing snowballs.

"I want to be a Mommy."

I was finishing up the last of the plates for breakfast when she says to me, "Mommy, let me ask you a question."
"Yes, Claire, what's your question?" I ask.
"I want to be a Mommy when I grow up," she says.
"Oh, Claire, you'll be a wonderful Mommy. How many babies do you want to have?"
She thinks about it for a few seconds.
"I only want Asher and Avery."
What a love!!!

As you can see, we continue to be busy in the kitchen... Claire with oranges for eyeballs, Ave and his cauliflower, and Asher lining up his cars on the edge of the counter.
