My big brown boy is home!

I brought Reese home today from the surgery center-- so glad to have him safely with us again!!! I kept looking around, expecting to see him in his normal spots around the house all day yesterday.

Crazy as this may be, I have the solid rubber ball that he swallowed-- don't worry! I will rid of it as soon as Scott gets home. Reese is going to have to wear his party hat for a while as well as contend with exercise restrictions. He also has some pain meds, tummy meds, and antibiotics to help heal him.

Reese!

A ball! A ball! My poor boy swallowed an entire ball!!! Surgery this morning removed the entire bouncing-rubbery sphere! Yeah! He should be on the mend soon and better than ever! (Who knows how it got there, how long it was there, etc.-- I am soooo relieved it was a silly ol' ball!)

What's your name?

At dinner the other night, we were going around the table, so Asher could name every one. "Dada, Mama, Ahhh (Claire), beebee (Avery)," and then he pointed to himself and said, "Ash."

Scott asked him, "Are you Avery?"

Again, he pointed to himself and said, "Ash."

We then asked Avery, "What's your name?"

Avery said, "Moo."

So "Moo" has acquired some more words than brother. He does say "Uncle Kay-shee", "Reesh", "Cah-ly," and most importantly, "TV show."

These boys... : )

My new favorite toys...

So this is a me-post that I wanted to share. I have found these new little gadgets that make my life more exciting, esp with summer here!

1. Milkshake straws! Nice fatty-boom-batty straws that are perfect for smoothies and fruit slushies.

2. Reusable Plastic cups-- for water, not liquor, folks!

3. Cherry pitter! Enough said!

Tea time!

For snack time, I tried to get a little creative with the kids. Claire was excited about wearing a costume and we made crowns for Ash and Ave. (Ash did not like his.) They all enjoyed drinking out of the cups and all the little snacks.

Unfortunately, the party was crashed by an univited guest who settled in my teacup.

Peach time!

The time to harvest peaches has come! As tempted as we have been to tether one of the pups to the base of the tree to keep the squirrels at bay, we have actually been able to harvest quite a few. Claire is extremely excited about it and enjoys collecting them in the bowl as well as pointing out which ones need to be picked. Avery and Claire have enjoyed eating a few but Asher is not too thrilled with them. Maybe he will receive them better when they are baked in a cobbler... or made into ice cream... or baked in a bread...

My, how they've grown...

The twins are now 22 months old, which is the same age that Claire was when they were born. It's amazing to think of how young she was when they came into this world and how much all 3 of them have grown.

Just this afternoon, I watched Claire put Asher into timeout for eating rocks. She was a mini-mommy to the tee! Even more funny was how Asher listened and obeyed her. Avery is into all of Claire's toys and enjoys a good battle when she reclaims them.
