Dinner time with my sister

By Reese P. Morrison

Claire really enjoyed her dinner tonight.

I didn't get a crumb.

Maybe next time...

Winter Day in Dallas

After an ice storm the previous day, we awoke this morning to find everything with a wonderful dusting of snow! We went out for a walk in the morning-- the pups have terrible cabin fever and were practically throwing themselves at the door for any adventure on a leash. It's a good thing we did go b/c by dinner time, the snow and ice were pretty much gone.

Our trip to Maryland

OK... time has passed and I am way behind on our blog! Whoops! ; ) Lots of wonderful things have happened, so I will do my best to catch up. Claire is sleeping, Scott is trying to figure out a produce co-op order, so that leaves me some time to post.

We flew to Maryland on Saturday, 1/17 to see my sister, Tricia, and her boys. My folks also flew in from Miami. Mom has always had this daydream that Claire would walk to her in the Dallas airport at Thanksgiving, but our little turkey saved her latest trick for New Year's. Claire did walk to Mom, but it was in the Charlotte, NC airport a few months after we expected it. Claire and Mom then sat together and even napped on our flight from CLT to SBY. So sweet!

It was great to see Tricia, Tradd, and Julian. The boys are so creative and full of love! Their knowledge of dinosaurs is astounding and they definitely put Auntie Kate to shame with my pronounciatios! Tradd was extremely affectionate toward Claire, hugging and kissing her any chance he could get. The 3 kids played well together, and Claire was so fascinated with her cousins.

Claire had a blast at Aunt T's old farmhouse. She loved chasing her 2 cats, Britches and Cheddar, around and around, calling, "Mee! Mee!" We had a day of snow-- brr!-- and a whole 6 days of cold. We did take a trip down to Assateague National Seashore-- Floridians on the beach in winter?! That's love for ya!

Goodbyes are never easy, but it was wonderful to be able to get together.

She's up and walkin'!

Right around Christmas time Claire, started taking a lot more steps by herself. By the New Year, she is officially a walker! We still see her crawling every now and then. She likes to use the dogs to help her stand and then just takes off.
