Happy Halloween!

What a fun-filled day. The rain canceled our soccer game but held off for trick or treating! Claire and I had a Girl Scout event in the morning which we dressed up in my old uniforms.

The guinea girls got dressed up for their 1st Halloween with us.

Carly celebrated her 13th birthday.

Then we enjoyed a neighborhood party before going trick or treating around the block with friends.

And we begin down the orthodontic road...

Teething... Losing 1st tooth... Now braces... 8 years went quickly...

Book Character Parade

#3 Pick your character, then find your book.

#4 It's OK for your Halloween costume to double as your book character.

And yes, Avery and Asher intentionally have "serious" faces on in order to stay in character.

Pumpkin Decorating Contest

So with this being such a crazy week, I had to take some shortcuts.

#1 Craft pumpkins. As much as I love a good, natural pumpkin hauling 3 of them up and back and around school is a beat down. I bought 3 lightweight, easy to paint ones at Michael;s.

#2 Prep the pumpkins. This was a kids project for sure, but as you know, they enjoy the fun part of creating-- not the grunt work. Like coloring the whole pumpkin in paint.

Here are the results!

Circus Day for Jude

Surely the circus has mechnics to fix their clown cars, right? There was no changing his mind about being a mechanic for any event.

State Fair? Check.

It was a fun and hot day, and boy am I glad we got in and out when we did! The kids had quite the experience with their first-go at the fair on Fair Day. Whew! We rode the big ferris wheel- The Texas Star-- for the first time and enjoyed all the animal encounters.

Claire sings with the Children's Choir

We made it back in time from our family Cub Scout campout for claire to sing for the first time with her children's choir. They had a quite a list of songs and sang beautifully throughout mass.

Avery goes to the Eisemann!

We purchased season tickets for the kiddos this year to the eisemann family theater series. It was averys turn to go and he enjoyed a show with our dear friend, Jude Bailey and his mom, Heather.

50s Day

Trial run for Halloween... Everyone happily put on costumes!
It was Decade Day at school. Every 6 wks, they have a big celebration and this year's theme, Groovin' through the Decades, allows them to dress in a certain decade.
