Happy Early 4th of July!

Our neighborhood had a little ice cream social today. We braved the heat and packed a picnic lunch to enjoy outdoors. Asher had his face painted for the 1st time and veterans Claire and Ave opted for something different than they normally get. Yay!!! Balloon animals were a hit as well until they became casualties of the blades of grass...

Underwater Experiment

I usually don't have the best of luck with cameras and water, so this was a major risk... taking the camera in the pool, underwater in a waterproof bag, while swimming with 3 small children. :)

And they're off! Take Your Sons and Daughters to Work Day has officially begun! Woohoo! Granted it's just till lunch time, but the kids have been looking forward to it all week. (Me too!)

 Boy, did this museum keep my baby busy! Avery had a blast running from one thing to the next. LOVED milking the cow, sliding, the water features, and all the other exhibits. So glad we got a membership!

Asher was in rare form at the Arboretum this afternoon. I mean, really? Who is this boy? My eldest son has grown up and into a funny and spirited guy, all in front of the camera.

What do you do with 5 lbs of strawberries?

Freezer jam!  I will certainly enjoy the fruits of my labor after my labor. :) It was a bountiful fruit-wknd-- peaches from our tree, great deal on cherries, over-abundance of blueberries. Peaches disappeared first in a cobbler, followed by the blueberries by the handfuls. The cherries were eaten as quickly as S could pit them.

Our big brown boy is 9 today! Well, according to our calendar he is! :) Reese got a new Nylabone this morning, and hopefully the cupcakes will get baked...

Claire's Gymnastics Exhibition

A little shy in the beginning but in the end our little gymnast warmed up and showed us a few things on the bars, beam, and soft block pit. : )
